Why It Starts

Disease prevention expands from clinics into ecology. Cities treat mosquitoes, wetlands, and migratory corridors as a living early-warning system, then learn to negotiate with the habitats they once managed as empty space. The result is fewer outbreaks and a new civic language in which human health is measured alongside the health of the places that carry it.

How It Branches

  1. Weather stations, bird trackers, wastewater samplers, and clinic data are combined into a weekly map of vector risk.
  2. The city lowers water levels in some wetlands, floods others, and releases sterile males to interrupt a predicted mosquito bloom.
  3. Repeated interventions protect hospitals but break pollinator routes and push displaced birds into neighboring districts.
